Elevate project links to herbal musical outlook Weymouth Concert Brass will team up with composer Rebecca Denniff to produce a compositional exploration of the medicinal plants and herbs of the Isle of Portland

Thank you to Brass Bands England, the wonderful Rebecca Denniff, and our MD, Keith Espin for their support, encouragement and hard work during our 'Keep in Thyme' Elevate project. It was an honour for us to collaborate with Rebecca and perform 'Portland Herbal' 🌿 Introducing synths and improvisation into our repertoire are things we never thought possible! Thank you to the fantastic team at b-side and Mandy Roper, for hosting our concert at St George's Church, Portland. It was great to be involved in the b-side Festival 🎺 Of course none of this would have been possible without our talented cornet player, Andrew Cowling. A special thank you to Andrew for the Elevate submission and for sharing your work with us. We have all learnt so much about the herbs and plants on Portland 🌱 Finally, thank you to our audience who supported us yesterday. We were VERY lucky with the weather. We hope everyone enjoyed the performance and we look forward to seeing you all again soon ☺️

To celebrate Brass Bands England's 'Brass Band Week' Weymouth ConcertBrass are playing at 3 engagements

Proms in the Playground at Prince of Wales School, Dorchester (private event

 Portland Port playing for the Caribbean Princess 

Band in the Park, 2-4pm, Radipole Gardens, Weymouth. Rebecca Denniff and BBE will be at the event for the first performance of our 'Keep in Thyme' Elevate project! Written by Rebecca Denniff



Our final performance of BrassBandWeek. Band in the Park  on a beautiful sunny afternoon in the wonderful Radipole Gardens. We perform Portland Herbal, for our 'Keep in Thyme' Elevate project during the concert. A spectacular evening at Weymouth harbour. Weymouth Concert Brass playing as the RNLI celebrated their 200th Anniversary with a Parade of Sail. Led by the lifeboat

 

   



   

   

WEBBA Regional Championships

The result was not what we hoped for, but it was a performace we were proud  of.  

The day was great meeting friends,  hearing other bands and socialising after the event
